Richard's BCT Graduation! :)

So last Monday I left for Fort Jackson, South Carolina to see my wonderful husband graduate from BCT. I went with my good friend Jessica, her fiance was also graduating. We left Boise on Monday morning and didn't arrive in Columbia, South Carolina until 9 that night. The problems we had with flights on this trip was ridiculous.
Since we didn't actually get to see the boys till Wednesday we had all of Tuesday to just walk around and explore the base. Fort Jackson was a great place and the weather was great the entire time we were there. You walk around the post and you can actually get away from everything and just be surrounded by nature; it was incredible. We went to the PX and found out that they have a mini golf course and a water park on post! It is a pretty cool post. Mostly we were just trying to pass the time because we were so excited to see our boys and it was taking forever for Wednesday to come.
Once Wednesday finally came we went to Hilton Field to be reunited with our boys. The whole 3/60th Company came running out from the woods with smoke grenades and ammunition rounds going off to the song of American Soldier by Toby Keith. It was so exciting; I couldn't handle it and I completely broke down and started crying. haha everything makes me crazy emotional these days.
Finally we were reunited with them and we got to hang out with them on post for the entire day. It was so nice just to finally be with Richard again. We went to the PX, commissary, the library, we went and ate lunch and dinner together and we just walked around the post for hours. We were going to play mini golf but there were about 200 people waiting to play so we decided against it. Everything finally felt normal again! :)
Finally with my solider!
We took them back to their barracks that night and waited for their graduation the next day. We got to Hilton Field two hours early and the wait took forever. By the time the graduation ceremonies started we were anxious to see the boys graduate but of course the ceremony took about an hour and a half. The Army band played at the graduation and we also had guess speakers that were awarded the medal of honor. It was a pretty interesting ceremony. They did their final pass in review and we got to go 'collect' them so to say. I am so proud of Richard for everything he has been doing and everything he is working towards. :)
Bravo Company! 4th Platoon Cobras
Pass in review :)
Hanging out at the hotel before taking him back to the barracks
All ready to ship out to AIT
In the bay area; It was so unbelievable crowded!
Final goodbye for a little while. I love my baby! :)
Besides the horrible luck with our flights and the airports it was a fantastic trip. It was so nice to be with him for a couple days before he got on a bus to go to AIT in Missouri. Hopefully he will get a weekend pass soon and I will be able to go out and see him before we get stationed at our first post. :)
