Richard's BCT Graduation! :)

So last Monday I left for Fort Jackson, South Carolina to see my wonderful husband graduate from BCT. I went with my good friend Jessica, her fiance was also graduating. We left Boise on Monday morning and didn't arrive in Columbia, South Carolina until 9 that night. The problems we had with flights on this trip was ridiculous.
Since we didn't actually get to see the boys till Wednesday we had all of Tuesday to just walk around and explore the base. Fort Jackson was a great place and the weather was great the entire time we were there. You walk around the post and you can actually get away from everything and just be surrounded by nature; it was incredible. We went to the PX and found out that they have a mini golf course and a water park on post! It is a pretty cool post. Mostly we were just trying to pass the time because we were so excited to see our boys and it was taking forever for Wednesday to come.
Once Wednesday finally came we went to Hilton Field to be reunited with our boys. The whole 3/60th Company came running out from the woods with smoke grenades and ammunition rounds going off to the song of American Soldier by Toby Keith. It was so exciting; I couldn't handle it and I completely broke down and started crying. haha everything makes me crazy emotional these days.
Finally we were reunited with them and we got to hang out with them on post for the entire day. It was so nice just to finally be with Richard again. We went to the PX, commissary, the library, we went and ate lunch and dinner together and we just walked around the post for hours. We were going to play mini golf but there were about 200 people waiting to play so we decided against it. Everything finally felt normal again! :)
Finally with my solider!
We took them back to their barracks that night and waited for their graduation the next day. We got to Hilton Field two hours early and the wait took forever. By the time the graduation ceremonies started we were anxious to see the boys graduate but of course the ceremony took about an hour and a half. The Army band played at the graduation and we also had guess speakers that were awarded the medal of honor. It was a pretty interesting ceremony. They did their final pass in review and we got to go 'collect' them so to say. I am so proud of Richard for everything he has been doing and everything he is working towards. :)
Bravo Company! 4th Platoon Cobras
Pass in review :)
Hanging out at the hotel before taking him back to the barracks
All ready to ship out to AIT
In the bay area; It was so unbelievable crowded!
Final goodbye for a little while. I love my baby! :)
Besides the horrible luck with our flights and the airports it was a fantastic trip. It was so nice to be with him for a couple days before he got on a bus to go to AIT in Missouri. Hopefully he will get a weekend pass soon and I will be able to go out and see him before we get stationed at our first post. :)

Saturday Hikes & More :)

So I've decided to start a little tradition of Saturday morning hikes to change up my workout schedule for the week. There are a ton of little places just to pull of to the side of the road and start hiking. Chelsea and I went out on Saturday where I used to hike with some friends in high school, we had a blast! The actually hike only was about 25 minutes but it was a good workout. I can't wait to find some more places, it is definitely a plus side to living in Idaho! :)

When we got home we started the china hutch project! I was so excited to finally start getting this under way and can I just say it looks so much better!! I love it! I still have to put one more coat of paint on it and reattach the nobs and handles. I will put a post with step by step pictures, I was amazed at how easy it was to make something that wasn't so cute into something I want in my house forever! Can't wait to share with you guys!
At the top! Idaho is such a beautiful place to live! :)
Also today is Richard and I's 6th month anniversary! How lucky am I to be married to such a wonderful man?! I love him more and more everyday (I didn't even think this was possible, oh but it is!) He has taught me so many things and brought so many great blessings into my life. I am grateful everyday for the opportunities we have to grow closer and stronger as a family. He is my everything :) I can't believe it has already been 6 months! Crazy how time can fly. Today also marks the one week date until I leave for South Carolina! Can't tell you how ready I am to be with my husband again!! I am so proud of him for joining the Army and I can't wait to see him graduate and take that next step in his career.
"No amount of time with you will ever be long
enough; so lets start with forever" --Edward Cullen
Tomorrow is the oh so great Valentines Day! Even though my husband isn't here to spend it with me I am not going to allow it to ruin my day! I have so many things to be thankful for and so many people that I love in my life, I am truly a lucky girl! Oh did I mention I bought Breaking Dawn Part 1? (Hence the Edward quote haha) It's like a drug and I've watched it everyday since I bought it...the soundtrack to the movie is unbelievable. We all have our guilty pleasures; mine would be the twilight books & movies. Midnight showings are a tradition for Richard and I. :) I love that he thinks it's just as exciting to see a brand new movie at midnight as I do, he's such a keeper.
7 more days. :)

While my husband is away I will.....organize and decorate! :)

I have been on a little kick lately about decorating our house and making it more a home. I have found and decided on a couple of projects to begin with.

Home Improvement List:
--Make an 'I love you because' board (check)
--Set up our new table by the front door! (check)
--Refinish our china hutch & try to make it not so hideous
--Diy pallet shelving
--And last but not least: decorate, decorate, decorate!

I order some cute country home decor for cheap from hobbylobby.com and can't wait for it to get here. I also have custom vinyl lettering on the way. I am obsessed with canvas paintings but didn't really like the idea of spending 50+ dollars on one canvas. I did my research and couldn't decide if I wanted to make one myself or what...then I discovered something brilliant! Faux canvas': they look like the real thing but they are about 1/2 the price! Needless to say I am excited to order a 16x20 for our dining room :)  But since I have a coupon for $10 off one I might need to get two just for good measure. I will post pictures of everything after it is all done; I am hoping to get this all done before I leave for my trip to South Carolina on the 20th! (I'm sure I will be able to with help from my lovely sisters)

I miss my husband a ton and this is one way I enjoy staying busy while he is finishing up basic! I can't wait to see the end results! :)

The Morgan's! :)

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Morgan :)
We are officially the Morgan's :) We well have been for almost six months now! We were married on August 13, 2011 in our hometown. We rented a cabin up in Pine, Idaho for our honeymoon. We rode around on 4-wheelers, it was so beautiful!
At the cabin!
For the past six months we have been living in  a little two bedroom house here in Mountain Home. Richard was working out at TLK Farms and I was working for A Bright Beginning Daycare. Richard stopped working out on the farm to go to basic training for the United States Army! I am so proud of him, this has been a dream of his for a long time and we definitely can't wait for the opportunities that are going to come to us from being in the military. I am no longer working at the daycare but I am a nanny for two little kids.
Richard will be graduating from basic training on the 20th of this month and I will be flying to South Carolina to see him! We are so excited to be together again for a couple of days. After he graduates he will go to AIT and then Airborne for more training. We are excited to see where we will be at the end of this year and can't wait for what life has in store for us!

After Richard swore into the Army :)
