goodies:)

Sad to say, but yes, I am home alone on a Friday night:( I miss my baby! After a long week of combative's he still got called in for CQ duty. So here I am blogging about all the random things I am thinking about on this lonely Friday night. Haha First things first, my birthday is six days away! :) No longer a teen, but finally the big 2-0!

--Gossip Girl is saving my Friday night from being completely lost
--I hate sleeping in our bed without my hubby; it's too empty.
--I really need to get a fill and my toenails repainted...asap!
--After looking at the Hair & Beauty board on Pinterest all I want to do is sit in front of my mirror and redo my makeup and hair in a million different ways.
--I love Leighton Meester (after watching Gossip Girl I watched every movie she was in and downloaded her songs, I know; Enough is enough!)
--I really need to grocery shop, our fridge, freezer and cupboards are empty.
--Obsessing over Toby Mac <3 downloading spree starts nowwww.
--I am so blessed to have such an amazing hubby & best friend. He is the best!

Last time I posted I talked about how we went to Aviano and drove go karts. Well last Saturday the 25th we went down to Jesolo to the beach! It was about an hour and a half drive but completely worth it! Ahh I will never get over the sand in my toes feeling. It was so fun just to enjoy some sunshine with my hubbs. We went paddling boarding for a little bit, and I say a little bit because that's exactly what it was. I wish I could say that everything went great and we had a ton of fun, while we did have a bunch of fun it didn't end so well. haha I can laugh about this now because it was a typical Richard Tanya fight that made the paddle boarding fiasco blow up. It was so windy that day and the water was very choppy, and I was having a hard time navigating this huge board. Richard was just trying to help to his defense, but me being the perfectionist that I am believes I can do it by myself perfectly. Anyways, I got frustrated because I was failing at paddle boarding and so I went back to shore. After the whole paddle boarding thing blew over, we sat on the beach and ate sandwiches and then body surfed forever. I wish I could capture the huge smile Richard had on his face when we were body surfing, it melted my heart. Then randomly he would pick me up and throw me over a wave to 'save me' which just ended up with me getting a mouth full of salt water. He is just so dang cute, and I can never get enough of the lovely dovey, carefree man that I married.
My hottie hubby on the beach;)

I might post a little later tonight because I am going to be that bored and I know I won't be able to sleep. Lovess!

hump day!

I feel like I have so much to post about! I keep on meaning to update the blog but something else always comes up. Life in Italy is the same to say the least. We drove up to Aviano two Saturday's ago so that we could look at the furniture that they have there--needless to say it was a total bomb. We found one set that we loved but it is one back order (go figure). So for now we will continue to use the Army temp furniture. We came home and decided to go out with some friends. We went out to dinner, well for pizza ha, and then we went to an indoor race track. So fun!! Percy, Dakota, Richard and I suited up and went for a run. It was great for about the first 10 minutes haha. That was only the qualifying round, we still had another 20 minutes! The hubbs took first place of course, and I took last. Needless to say I need to sharpen up my driving skills. I did get the fastest lap time of the day by some miracle;) whooo!
This week Richard is in a combat training class, meaning he gets beat up and beats up other guys ever day. It  doesn't sound appealing to me in any way, but it looks good that he's doing it. Which means a very sore, beat up husband every day after work.
I finally got my degree in the mail! Well it's at my parents house so they have to mail it to me:) One down, two to go! I think I have officially decided that I want to get my Masters. We will see:)

That's all for now! Lovesss:)

muffins & makeup :)

Today was a lazy day/cleaning day for muah :) I literally sat at home all day and only got off my computer if I needed to change the laundry or put the dishes away after the cycle was done. I know, talk about exciting! The hubbs is on CQ duty today so he only came home once around 8 am so I have been bored out of my brains.

After a very bad decision to go to bed at 8:30 last night, I was awake and ready to work at 3! Thankfully I just had to get a drink a water and I was able to go right back to sleep. I did get up with my alarm at 7 and start on the household work. One thing about this apartment is that it is never clean!! Ugh! I clean one day (and I mean sweep, mop and dust everything) and the next day there is another layer of dust. I have come to the terms that sweeping and dusting are everyday things. Yippee! not.

After the house was picked up, laundry was done, and dishes were in the dishwasher it was 7:45. haha
Cleaning everyday makes the work load so much easier to get through. And the only reason I clean everyday is because I have yet to find a job here so I figure it is the least I can do. After the cleaning was done I decided to make some muffins! :) Blueberry is my favoriteeee.
The finished product. They came from a box mix but it was the best box mix muffins I have ever eaten. They were so yummy. And this mix was actually good for you! No high fructose corn syrup. One really cool thing about our stove is that it has this build in cooling rack on top! It is very handy, I must say.

Lately, and don't ask my why but it's the truth, I have been addicted to reading fashion&makeup blogs. Honestly, I read them like it's going out of style. Partly it's because I don't have a good book to read right now but also because I'm obsessed with makeup, not so much fashion but I'm getting there. Right now I so badly want new mac eye shadows and paint pots. Also Chanel blush and a 24/7 eyeliner by Urban Decay. Good thing my birthday is coming up soon! ;) I have over used our anniversary as an excuse to by myself presents.

lots of love:)

a year of first's :)

Yesterday I blogged mostly about our recent trip to Rome but it actually was in fact our 1 year anniversary! :) I am so blessed to have such a hardworking, loving and supportive husband. He has been my best friend for so many years now and I can't imagine not having him in my life...but enough of the sap! ;) This year has been a wonderful/hectic/stressful/surprising&amazing year of first's:

1) We rented our very house & then an apartment:)
2) Richard went to & graduated from basic training, AIT & airborne school
3) We got our first duty station; Vicenza, Italy!
4) We bought our first car; 2010 Toyota Corolla whooo!
5) I graduated from BYU-I with my Associates in general studies (now I just have to decide what's next)

Back when Richard and I were both still in high school! This was New Years of 2008...seems so long ago!!
All the skype and long distance calls :)
After being separated for 8 of the 12 months of this year it is so nice to finally be back with my baby! Always & Forever :)

rome for the weekend!

This last weekend the hubbs and I went to Rome, Italy! It was our first major trip since I have been in Italy and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! It was so much fun :)
Day one:
We left Vicenza around 11 am; which was originally supposed to be 9 am but we had some minor setbacks. We went with a couple of other people that Richard met from work. Since we had to wait for one of the families to get everything together we went to the PX and ate breakfast, then we hit the road or the autostrada (Italian freeway). To get onto the autostrada you have to go through these huge booths and get a ticket that says what time you got one and other stuff and when you get off you go back through a booth and pay a certain amount of euro. It is crazy that even to drive on freeways you have to pay something! After about 5 1/2 hours of driving we finally made it to Rome. :) We stayed at a holiday inn that was about 10 minutes away from downtown Rome. Once we got everything up to our rooms we went to hang out by the pool and just relax for the night. Since we got there kind of late in the afternoon we didn't go and see anything. I was so tired from driving all day, well sitting in the passenger seat and taking naps, I fell asleep as soon as we called it a night...I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow. haha
Day two:
We woke up and caught a bus into downtown at 9:45 am. We planned to walk around Rome and see as much as we could. We saw so many attractions, everywhere you look there is something else to see. Of course, with my luck, one of my flip-flops broke like 40 minutes into our day! It was a disaster and so embarrassing. I had to walk around without a flip-flop until we found a shoe store (luckily it wasn't that far away from where we were at). I had to buy a new pair of flip-flops for 17 euro! And it doesn't help that they were completely hideous. It was so sad to have to throw away my favorite pair of flip-flops!
After we got past the flip-flop dilemma we went and walked around Rome for a good couple of hours. I finally got to eat authentic Italian pasta and it was pretty good. We really got to see a lot for one day.
After a long day of sightseeing we headed back to the hotel. We decided on pizza for dinner and ended up at this little Romanian/Italian pizza place. We ordered cheese pizza but actually ended up getting bread with cheese on it, it was not what we were expecting haha. The kids swam for a little bit and Richard and I watched some Olympics before heading out to see what we could of Vatican City. We didn't leave the hotel until late so we actually only got to go to the entrance and take pictures, we didn't actually get to go inside, which was a bummer. When we go back to Rome that is something we are definitely going to go see first. We did get to see a lot of Rome but its impossible to see everything in one day. After our attempt to see Vatican City we headed back to the hotel and called it a night.
Day three:
We headed home Sunday morning at about 9. It was hard to find breakfast since all they eat in Italy are croissants for breakfast. Richard ended up eating pringeles and I ate pretzels. The trip home felt a lot quicker than the trip there, but that's usually how it always is. The drive and scenery was just amazing! It is all mountains and rolling hills and so. much. green. It really was incredible. Rome was such a fun experience and I can't wait to go back and see more!
I am already trying to convince Richard that we need to go to Venice on his next 4 day weekend...we will see how that goes ;) Today was also our 1 year anniversary! yay!!! Richard went out and bought an xbox this morning and I ran some errands and got to skype with my shelbster:) It was a nice relaxing anniversary and I was happy to just hang out with my hubby all day. We went to the USO and called home and then went out for gellato, it was our first time eating it and it was pretty good, even Richard liked it, which is pretty amazing. I love my hubby so much and am grateful for everyday that I get to spend with him. I can't wait for an eternity with him! :) :)

italy! :)

Well, I finally made it to Italy! Whoo! I left Boise on Thursday the 26th but didn't actually end up in Italy until Saturday the 28th. To make a long ridiculous story short, I had to spend the night in Chicago because our flight couldn't fly into Philadelphia because of the weather. That meant that I would miss my flight to Germany and then to Italy. So, I stayed the night in Chicago and caught a flight the next day straight to Rome. It wasn't  a horrible experience, but I must say I have the worst luck with flights and airports.
I finally arrived in Verona, Italy around 2:30 on Saturday and had my wonderful hubby waiting for me at the airport. I was so happy and excited to see him again! Besides the fact that we couldn't get out of the airport parking lot for a half an hour because we didn't know how to pay our toll we finally got home. :) The drive from Verona to Vicenza was absolutely beautiful and I automatically fell in love with Italy. Once we got into Vicenza Richard brought to me our cute little apartment (okay it has three bedrooms but its still pretty small). :) But, it is the cutest little apartment ever! I can't wait till our things get here so I can decorate. We have a bunch of temporary furniture right now courtesy of the Army, but I feel like I am living in TLF haha.
Some pictures of our house: :)

The only things that are frustrating about living here is that we are on the fourth floor with no elevator (stairs are always a good workout I suppose) and we have a community laundry room. We also have a little one car garage. It really is such a cute place. :) After I got somewhat settled in and showered we went to go meet all of the friends Richard has made in the couple of months that he has been here. They are really great people and so fun to be around! After we made a stop at a get together we decided to go walk around downtown Vicenza. It was so fun. Everything is so old and buildings are so well built.
We have been going around non-stop on post getting me in processed and everything and now all I have left to do is take the driving test so I can get my Italian drivers license. This weekend is a four day and our anniversary and we will be spending it in Rome:) I am overly excited!! Yay! :) Lots more to come pictures and posts to come! Lovesss! :)
